President of Umm Al-Qura University Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas discussed plan of self-operating system at the Deanship of Preparatory Year to be implemented as per the visions and directives adopted by the Ministry of Education in line with the National Transformation Program 2020 and the Kingdom Vision 2030, with the university leadership represented by UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou, UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Sorouji and the Dean of Preparatory year Dr. Saad bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, at his office in Abdyia campus.
Umm Al-Qura University is the first to achieve such step at the level of deanships of preparatory years in the Saudi universities. Such historical transformation towards self-operation system of the deanship of preparatory year endeavors to cover complete academic operation of the preparatory year courses and take the lead in this regard.
On this occasion, UQU President said all potentials are geared up to go on with this transformation indicating that the system endeavors to recruit distinctive competencies specially that deanship of preparatory year contributes to imrpoving mental capabilities of the student and provides them with the technical, logistical, knowledge and intellectual skills depending on a motivating educational environment supported by the best employment of technologies and partnerships.
He added such system is designed to provide academic cadres and prepare internal environment in addition to support transformation to digital courses in line with requirement of the era indicating that student can adapt to the digital courses via the interactive sights and upload courses on his smartphone. He lauded efforts of those in charge of the program and wished it to achieve the sought-after objective.
For his part, UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Sorouji said such transformation is a fruit of diligent effort and continuous work according to well-crafted time plan set to determine requirements of the deanship from the academic cadre as a result of sufficient awareness of the academic department inside the university that can meet this requirement. To that end he added, the Deanship succeeded in signing short and long term partnerships with support deanships and colleges to cover academic requirement in all courses and at all streams at the male and female students section in Makkah.
Within the same vein, Dean of Preparatory Year, Dr. Saad Al-Ghamdi commended the unlimited support received by the deanship from the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Dr. Abdul-Aziz Al-Sorouji and UQU Vice President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou which enabled such outstanding achievement to come to light, that is to be added to the role undertaken by the support deanships, colleges and English Language Center to achieve partnerships with the deanship of preparatory year in line with directives of the Ministry of Education. He underscored that such cooperation, understanding and distinctive communication amongst the academic leaderships in all deanships and college of the university will continue in addition to their keenness to all that will contribute to serving students of this prestigious university progressing steadily to become one of the prominent universities at the global level under the close follow up of the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas.
