The General Supervisor of the Cybersecurity Administration for Technical Security, Dr. Hassan Lahzah, stressed the importance of applying the best technical practices to protect the social media accounts, and to avoid the cyber risks threatening the digital world. This can be implemented by selecting strong passwords, activating two-step verification, and raising the level of privacy and protection against social engineering.
These points was mentioned during the introductory speech given by Dr. Hassan at the beginning of the training course entitled: "Protection of Social Media Accounts", which was organized by the College of Computer and Information Systems in collaboration with the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques. The course was held as part of the programs of the initiative entitled: "Digital Homeland Protectors", which was launched by the university under the patronage of the UQU President, Prof. Moaddi bin Muhammad Aal Madh-hab. This initiative was held at the Fifth Cultural Makkah Form entitled: "How to Be a Role Model in the Digital World".
The initiative aimed to offer training courses and workshops for the rising generation on how to use different applications and electronic games safely. Moreover, the initiative aimed to protect the children using cyberspace, and to raise the level of digital awareness among the different members of the community.
