Launching the First Student Council for Postgraduate Studies

The College of Education, represented by the Department of Islamic Education and Comparative Studies, launched the first Student Council for postgraduate students. The aim of the council is to provide enrichment activities and educational programs that contribute to building values ​​and knowledge among university students and to developing their skills in various fields.

The Head of the Department of Islamic Education and Comparative Studies at the university, Dr. Fahd Al-Qahtani, said that the council’s mission is focused on enabling postgraduate students to actively participate in the scientific and research fields as well as enriching activities, and to develop their personal and social skills. This is with the aim of strengthening students' relationship with the department and the university, and promoting the development initiatives it launches to serve the community.

On her part, the Deputy Head of the Department, Dr. Sarah Al-Mutairi, said that the postgraduate students actively participated in writing the guidebook for the Student Council, which consisted of seven chapters covering twenty-three subjects that aim at organizing the work of the council. This guide represents the reference in the formation of the council, and is based on the list of student rights and duties at Umm Al-Qura University.

The event was attended by the Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Saeed, the Acting Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Al-Unud Mahdar, the Vice Dean of the College of Education for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdullah Al-Tamim, and the Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Busainah Al-Ghamdi.
