3:30 p.m. was the time for citizens of all groups and segments to meet at the "Health Information and Educative Conference" imposed by the Coronavirus pandemic over a period of 180 days.

It was the real indicator of the citizens and residents' awareness and the gauge of the state’s readiness, with all its agencies and institutions, from the first moment, to confront this pandemic and the effects resulting from it to protect its citizens. Thus, the role of the kingdom was praised globally via international organizations.

This fact was affirmed by the participants at the seminar organized by the Media Department at Umm Al-Qura University through its virtual platform, entitled: "Media After Coronavirus... Between Specialists, Practitioners, Influencers, and Celebrities". A group of academics and specialists in the media field participated in this seminar.

The participants unanimously agreed that the official spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Muhammad Al-Abd Al-Aali, was one of the notable personalities that appeared clearly during the pandemic. He had both the specialty of being a spokesman for the official body concerned with facing the challenges of coronavirus, and the positive impact that his flexible media style left on society. He tackled the events of the pandemic locally and internationally, which was accompanied by his daily appearance on social media at the time. The community transmitted the contents he issued, which made awareness overwhelm rumors and contributed in reducing them.

The Editor-in-Chief of the University's Journal of Social Sciences, Prof. Usamah Al-Madani, started the seminar, which was moderated by the spokesman of the Healthcare Cluster in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, Hatim Al-Masaudi, a postgraduate student at the Media Department. Prof. Usamah said, "The coronavirus pandemic has contributed in restoring the strength of traditional media by making it compete with the modern means in spreading news, and cover the event with reliability. While most countries were devoting their efforts to fighting rumors, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were developing an integrated strategy based on health awareness and education for its citizens, through official media institutions, to transfer correct information and the controls set by the state and the concerned authorities to protect its citizens and residents."

On his part, the Head of the Media Department, Dr. Salim Uraijah, highlighted the role of the academic departments specialized in the media field and their active participation with various official bodies in making use of the abilities of their students and specialists, as well as their contribution in transmitting media awareness messages. They also sought to provide university students with new skills and professional experience on how to confront such a pandemic and face all the challenges.

Moreover, the Supervisor of the Media Center, Dr. Fouad Bouqas, indicated the importance of scientific media and its role in tackling the coronavirus pandemic with a meaningful content that contributed in controlling it. This was achieved through analytical studies offered by researchers and their focus on disseminating educative messages that support the instructions of the official bodies. They also dealt with accounts that focused on the number of cases in certain areas.
