36 International Agreements Signed by Umm Al-Qura University to Raise Its Global Ranking

Over the past decade, Umm Al-Qura University has signed 36 international agreements to raise the level of its ranking and its scientific, educational, research and societal standing among international universities. The agreements covered medical, engineering, legal and humanitarian aspects, developing scientific research, recruiting distinguished scholars, student exchange, and technology localization.

The Supervisor of the International Cooperation Unit at Umm Al-Qura University, Dr. Ruaa Makki, stated that the university has always been keen on extending bridges of cooperation and building international partnerships related to the development of scientific and academic research programs and their outputs. She noted that Umm Al-Qura University, thanks to its unique Hajj and Umrah related research, claims distinction over its counterpart universities.

Dr. Makki added that the university, represented by the International Cooperation Unit, seeks to develop its plans and mechanisms for partnerships and scientific twinning with the most prestigious international scientific and academic institutions and universities. This is to achieve the objectives of its strategic plans as well as global leadership, based on the university's endeavor to develop its capabilities in accordance with the strategic priorities aligned with the goals of the Saudi Kingdom's National Vision 2030. The university aims to achieve this through knowledge exchange and recruiting distinguished scientists and researchers to benefit from their experiences and to encourage the transfer and sharing of scientific and research knowledge, the localization of technology, and a focus on research of strategic importance to the Saudi Kingdom.
