In continuation of the celebrations organized by Umm Al-Qura University on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Saudi National Day, the female section at the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers held a celebration entitled: "Learn About the Kingdom of Goodness". The celebration was held via a virtual (video) conference, under the auspices of Her Excellency the Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah Al-Khouli.
The Dean of the Institute, Dr. Hasan Bukhari, stated that this great occasion is an opportunity to be inspired by the meanings of glory and greatness. Such an occasion urges us to do more to achieve our ambitions and objectives, and to work together to deliver the message of the science and the language of the Qur'an.
On her part, the Vice Dean of the Institute, Dr. Faizah bint Salim, said we are inspired every year by the Founder of the state and his determination, and we urge every generation to look forward to this occasion. She added that this country is the focus of the attention of the world because it includes the Two Holy Mosques and is concerned with spreading science and language everywhere, by building knowledge institutions and hosting foreign students.
Dr. Sarah Al-Khouli regarded celebrating national occasions as a sincere gesture of respect to the history of struggle and persistence that marked the reign of the Founder of the Saudi Kingdom, King Abdulaziz Al Saud. She lauded the efforts of the institute in organizing such programs.
The program included a tour in some regions of the Saudi Kingdom, accompanied by a number of the institute's academic staff members. The trip started from the dearest of all lands to Allah and the place of revelation, Makkah, and passed through Riyadh, Asir, Dammam, Qassim, and Tabouk. It included learning about the different areas in the regions, the most important landmarks, the habits of its people, and the popular foods.
The results of the drawing competition held on this occasion were announced. The competition entailed "Drawing One of the Landmarks of the Kingdom". The paintings were presented with impressive comments revealing their beauty and the feelings of those who painted them.
The Vice Dean of the Institute for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Badriyyah Al-Fahmi, tackled the development of education in the kingdom and the Saudi Vision 2030. She praised the efforts of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the early preparation of the e-learning infrastructure, which had a great impact in alleviating the consequences of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on education.
After that, the foreign female students reviewed their glorious memories in the Saudi Kingdom, what they had heard about the kingdom, and what they found during their stay there.
The feelings of the foreign female students at the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers were followed by them presenting the highest expressions of thanks and gratitude for what was and is still being provided to them by this blessed country.
An interactive contest was held on the information which was presented during the program about the kingdom. During the event, symbolic gifts were presented to the female students, who were happy with them.
The celebration was concluded with a visual presentation telling the story of the unification of the kingdom at the hands of the Founder of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud (may Allah bestow His mercy on him).
