The Institute’s Celebration of the National Day Under the Patronage of His Excellency the President of the University

On Wednesday, 6 Safar, 1442 A.H., the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-Native Speakers celebrated #Himmat_Watan on the occasion of #90th_National_Day under the sponsorship and in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. # Abdullah Bafail. The ceremony was attended by the vice presidents, His Excellency the Dean of the Institute, the academic staff, and the institute's students and trainees from inside and outside the country.

The ceremony started with the recitation of the Qur'an, followed by the Royal Salute. Then, His Excellency the Dean of the Institute delivered his speech, referring to the generosity of our country that extends east and west by embracing the children of the Muslims and by contributing to the acceleration of the development at home. His Excellency extended thanks to the leadership of this country and those in authority for these great efforts.

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, delivered a speech in which he affirmed that our blessed country continues its ninetieth year with glory and steadfastness, describing its progress as a march of struggle and success stories that recount the history of glory to generations. His Excellency concluded his speech praying to Allah to protect the leaders of our march, King Salman bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The ceremony had many different sections: Dr. Arif Al-Usaimi talked about scholarships, Dr. Muhammad Al-Thubaiti recited a poem on "Patriotic Feelings", Dr. Ayman Al-Mansouri highlighted the kingdom's interest in teaching the Arabic language and recent experiences, and Dr. Sulaiman Al-Asiri gave a historical and civilizational presentation on the Madinah region.

This was followed by a speech on the kingdom's efforts to enhance the linguistic and literary identity, delivered by Dr. Ali Al-Harithi. Next, Dr. Muhammad Al-Shehri talked about the city of Al-Namas, in the past and present, reviewing its most prominent tourist attractions.

A section was devoted to the distinguished students of the institute, in which they stated that the kingdom has doubled its efforts in serving international students during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. That was in terms of directing medical advice and providing free treatment, housing the students in luxury hotels, and continuing the disbursement of subsistence and remuneration for them, visa issuance, etc. At the end, they asked Allah to protect this country and its leadership.
