President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU) Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas inaugurated the evening preparatory and qualifying year forum organized by the College of Community Service and Continuing Education on Wednesday Jumada Al-Oula 25, 1438 H in the presence of the UQU President Dr. Yassir bin Suleiman Shoushou, UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdul-Aziz Sorouji, Deans of the Colleges involved in the program of the college of community service and continuing education and the supervisors of the colleges implementing the program. The inauguration took place at King Abdul-Aziz Support Hall for male students and the College HQs at Al-Shisha for female students.
After initiating the ceremony with a Quranic recitation, the Head of the Programs Department in the College of Community Service and Continuing Education Dr. Khalid Al-Akwaa delivered address saying" We meet today with male and female students of the evening preparatory and qualifying year organized by a constellation of colleges in collaboration with the Deanship of Preparatory Year under the slogan of " Communication, Evaluation, Development". He added that the forum is intended to communicate with male and female students, open channels of communication with them, exchange information and receive proposals to boost services provided for students in the evening qualifying and preparatory program.
Further, he said such meetings are sought to assessing performance, learning lessons of the past, making use of the successes and achievements and maximizing opportunities. "We meet today to listen our each other's views and proposals particularly the male and female students", he expounded saying that we have set our eyes on developing the programs to be in line with the educational objectives of the national transformation plan leading to full implantation of the Saudi Vision 2030". Additionally, he extended his thanks and appreciation to UQU President Dr. Bakri bin M'atooq bin Bakri Assas for his noble sponsorship and honorable attendance in this forum.
Within the same vein, the UQU Vice President for Educational Affairs Dr. Abdul-Aziz bin Rashad Al-Sorouji referred in his speech to the importance of such meetings in communicating with the students, opening horizons with them and receiving their views and proposals. He added the meeting comes to explain to students of the evening preparatory and qualifying year the mechanism of major selection after passing the required courses during this year. Ending his speech he extended his thanks and appreciations to the UQU President for sponsoring such forums and for meeting with the students.
For his part, the UQU President Dr. Bakri Assas delivered address saying that the evening preparatory and qualifying year program are physical representation of the university mission in serving the community, and providing open education opportunities for sons of the community. He prayed Allah to bestow success among all in providing effective communication with male and female students and in making the efforts of evaluating the program via the distributed surveys a success in order to achieve the sought-after development in the provided services.
At the conclusion, Dr. Assas praised the efforts exerted by the college of community service and continuing education.
After that the forum started to receive discussions and enquiries of the students.
