The UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli, said that the success in emergency crisis management reflects the early readiness and preparation of the institutional structure to deal with crisis repercussions. She highlighted the role played by the university in combating the coronavirus pandemic through the synergy and solidarity of all its sectors and their adoption of digital transformation to complete their educational mission and serve their affiliates from inside and outside the university.
This came during the university participation in the first meeting of female leaders on "The Saudi Universities and the Coronavirus Crisis", which was organized remotely by King Khalid University's Vice Presidency for Female Student Affairs. The aim of the meeting was to showcase the initiatives of the vice presidencies and their experiences in dealing with the coronavirus pandemic to be able to complete the requirements of the academic year. The participants also discussed innovative solutions to be ready for the coming academic year if the crisis continues.
Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli reviewed the most significant programs launched by the vice presidency and the university entities to manage the coronavirus crisis and deal with it in accordance with the procedures needed to run the distance educational process and complete the second semester of the academic year 1441 A.H. in a way that secures the interests of the students. Moreover, the programs aimed to support the university affiliates in overcoming work challenges in light of the pandemic and carry out transactions through the Administrative Communication System (Masar), developing it using smart systems to keep pace with the requirements of the current period.
The UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs referred to the university's role in raising awareness and educating the community through various initiatives meeting the needs of their beneficiaries. This is in addition to harnessing knowledge, providing several scientific research projects and studies on the impact of coronavirus, and formulating solutions to contain the crisis in different fields, especially with regard to the Hajj and Umrah sectors where the merit of the place and the location oblige the university to harness its knowledge capacities and channel them in this regard.
On her part, the Vice Dean of E-Learning and Distance Education, Dr. Hanaa Yamani, said the deanship had implemented five educational systems to achieve the university's mission and its strategic objectives. These systems are: the simulation system, virtual sessions, educational communication channels, e-learning environment, and e-tests. The deanship had also provided technical support around the clock through social media channels.
