Summer Program Courses: UQU and Misk Offers a Career Excellence Road Map Guide for Graduates

The charitable Misk Foundation, in cooperation with Saudi universities, seeks to develop educational outcomes in a distance summer program targeting graduates and future graduates. Registration for the program entitled: "Future Path for Career Essentials", will end on 25 June, 2020 A.C., and the program will start on 30 June, 2020 A.C.

Umm Al-Qura University invited its graduates and future graduates to register for the summer program aimed at helping them to raise the level of their professional career to global standards and entrepreneurship, in order to qualify for world class jobs. The program is based on a flexible system consisting of 2-hour modules, with 6 hours of training that will end with the trainee obtaining a certificate for passing the program.

The Dean of the Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Muwaffaq Uraijah, stated that the program would greatly contribute to drawing the career path for the graduates and would enable them to benefit from the summer vacation, especially in the current situation with health precautionary measures and preventive home quarantine in place. Dr. Uraijah affirmed the importance of the graduates applying for the training program as a way of making the best use of their time, learning how to become involved in the job market, and securing jobs that meet their aspirations.

It is a training-based program with 3 different modules in Arabic and English. The first module focuses on mapping the road for the trainees' career paths by identifying their interests, strengths and abilities that will add to their credentials. Moreover, it acquaints them with some personal and professional skills required for recruitment in the appropriate professional field. These points are based on development strategies that lead to successfully fulfilling one's goals and aspirations.

The second module educates the trainees on resume writing, personal interview skills, as well as interpersonal and social communication skills. These should reflect the profound academic achievement and solid scientific background of the trainees, through their speaking and writing, which increases their chances of getting a job. The third module focuses on developing communication skills and expanding the network of social relationships via the Internet or face-to-face communication, and improving these with positive impressions and responses.
