Out of the keenness of the Department of Chemistry at the College of Applied Sciences on maintaining the quality of education and preparing the students (males and females) of the department by qualifying them for the requirements and needs of the labor market, and by virtue of the presence of outstanding training cadres among the department's academic staff, today, Sunday, 22 Shawwal, 1441 A.H., the events of the summer training program at the Department of Chemistry were launched for the summer semester of the academic year 1441 A.H. via the distance learning system. This is due to the exceptional circumstances experienced this year and the inability of students to obtain the field training and attend at the training bodies in the governmental or private sectors. The events are organized in collaboration with the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies represented by SAFE Center for Safety, Risk and Crisis Management, and will be held for 6 consecutive weeks, in order for the students (males and females) to acquire some general skills for self development in the labor market environment as well as specialized skills in the field of chemical equipment, which are used to collect results in many areas of chemistry.

The themes of the summer training program via the distance learning system

The program includes a number of learning outcomes that can be divided into two main groups:

Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Skills that are provided by holding periodical meetings aimed at training the students and providing them with different specialized skills in the industrial field as well as in performing chemical and pharmaceutical tests.

Self-Development in Knowledge and Skills as well as Labor Market Skills: Skills provided through the training via the distance learning system, thereby enhancing the students' skills of working in a team; speech and expression skills; and raising self-confidence. This is in addition to working in groups to implement different tasks, and becoming familiar with the systems of the training bodies as well as the labor market and its procedures.

The Head of the Department of Chemistry, His Excellency Dr. Mutaz Hashim, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation for the efforts the staff exerted. Moreover, he extended special thanks to His Excellency the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Hatim Al-Tas, as well as the college's Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Ismail Al-Thaqfi, for the ongoing support resulting in the success of all aspects of the educational progress in the different academic departments.

Additionally, His Excellency expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the academic staff at the Department of Chemistry who participated in delivering the training courses in the male students section.
