Friday, the 15th of the blessed month of Ramadan, marked the launching of the first judging session of the Qur’anic Competition "Read and Rise". The event is organized by the Ministry of Education for students of general education in its three stages (primary, preparatory, and secondary), in cooperation with the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education and the Department of Qur’anic Recitations of Umm Al-Qura University.
The competition is divided into two main categories: the Qur'an memorization and exegesis category, and the recitation category. A total of fifty-six judging sessions, which will be held remotely, have been scheduled for the competition over a period of seven days, with eight sessions held per day in both the male and female sections.
The number of participants amounts to more than 2,800 male and female competitors, along with sixty male and female judges from the faculty members of the Department of Qur’anic Recitations. The event is organized under the supervision of a team of trainers and a technical support body, in addition to technical management from the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education.
