The College of Applied Medical Science will organize an awareness lecture themed "the Blood Donation: Culture and Benefits" which is scheduled to be presented by Assistant Professor of Hematology and Blood Transfusion Sameh Baz on Monday (Jumada al-Oola 15, 1438H) at 12:00 p.m. in hall 2.

The lecture is set to raise students' and employees' awareness about the blood donation and to shed light on the related religious and health benefits in addition to the blood apheresis and bank procedures.

The lecture is planned to be held two days ahead of the national blood donation campaign under the theme "Thank South Border Heroes By Your Blood."

The campaign is part of an initiative launched by Makkah Province Emirate and organized by Umm Al-Qura University, represented by College of Applied Medical Science, in cooperation with the Makkah Region Health Affairs. It aims at enhancing national solidarity.

Out of strong belief in the college's practical role, Dean of the College Ahmed Ashshi said the lecture is part of a series of events and forums held to raise awareness among Saudi people. He called on students, employees and staff members, especially those who are willing to donate blood, to attend the lecture and say thank you to the south borders' heroes.

The dean extended thanks to President of the University Dr. Bakri Bin M'atoog Bin Bakri Assas for supporting the campaigns.
