On behalf of the employees of Umm Al-Qura University, His Excellency the President, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, expressed great gratitude and deep appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz (may Allah safeguard him), for his sincere statement to the citizens and residents, and for the efforts made by our prudent government in taking all precautions to confront the COVID-19 pandemic.

The UQU President said: The speech of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques was characterized as a sincere fatherly discourse and an address of a responsible leader, which is transparent and clear. This was evidenced by his reference to the fact that this crisis will turn, by Allah’s grace and success, into a new point in the history of man’s confrontation with the adversity that humankind goes through. This crisis revealed the strength, forbearance and steadfastness of the Saudi people to confront the COVID-19 pandemic with genuine cooperation, concerted efforts of all the concerned parties, and community health awareness, following all precautionary and preventive measures.

His Excellency added that Umm Al-Qura University will make every effort possible to deal with this exceptional circumstance with the required rigidity and through the combination of efforts and administrative flexibility, in partnership with all government entities, to emerge from this crisis safely.
