Umm Al-Qura University Launches 13 Research Projects in the Field of Technology and Innovation

His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, launched 13 research projects within the program of the National Plan for Science, Technology, and Innovation funded by King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology.

This came during a meeting of the UQU President with the UQU Science and Technology Unit, in the presence of the Director of the Unit, Dr. Imad Felemban, and the unit employees. During the meeting, the two data portals of the Science and Technology Unit were launched, in addition to the portal of scientific outcomes of the Knowledge [Maarifah] Program, which includes a database of data and statistics on published scientific papers on the support of technology research and innovation.

It is worth noting that the 13 projects were distributed as follows: 6 research projects in the fields of medical and health technology, 4 research projects in the field of electronic research and information technology, 3 research projects on energy and environmental technology, and two studies in the field of mathematics and physics.

His Excellency UQU President honored the CEO of Wadi Makkah for Technology, Dr. Faisal Al-Allaf, and the former Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Ahdal, in recognition for their efforts in managing the Science and Technology Unit in previous years. His Excellency UQU President also honored the unit employees in appreciation of the efforts made in serving the researchers.
