Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the Deanship of Scientific Research, organized a forum on Sunday and Monday, 6 and 7 Rajab 1441 A.H., entitled, "Empowering Women in Scientific Research", along with an accompanying exhibition. The forum was carried out at Al-Jawharah Hall (female section), Al-Zahir campus, under the kind patronage of His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, and with the participation of female researchers from various academic disciplines in different Saudi universities.
Her Excellency Dr. Al-Jawharah Abdullah Al-Qathami, Assistant Professor of Pharmacology at the College of Pharmacy, participated with a working paper in the Empowering Women Forum. The forum aimed at clarifying the real status of women in the research field. Moreover, it intended to diagnose the difficulties they face in order to identify a range of workable procedures and solutions in consultation with decision-makers, guided in this regard by successful women's research experience as well as highlighting this topic in the media.
This forum also aimed at defining the role of women in the fields of scientific research in a way that achieves the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030, and introducing support areas for them internally and externally.
