His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, today in his office, honored an internship year student at the College of Dentistry, Shahd Al-Utaibi, for obtaining the highest score for the past three years in the exam for the Saudi license to practice the dental profession. This took place in the presence of the Dean of the College, Dr. Abdul-Aziz Khutani, and a number of faculty members.
His Excellency the UQU President congratulated the student on this qualitative excellence that enhances the academic excellence of Umm Al-Qura University. He lauded the efforts extended by the College of Dentistry and the high quality of its academic curricula, graduating distinguished educational cadres and competencies. Moreover, he stressed the support of the UQU for its outstanding students, and its constant care for developing knowledge acquisition by harnessing the latest and best methods.
It is worth noting that the exam is held by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS), and aims to determine who has the necessary competencies to obtain a license to practice the dental profession after the internship year. The commission ensures that the graduates of the accredited health education institutions fulfill the minimum standards for practicing the dental profession, and agree upon comparison criteria to choose between the multiple candidates applying for postgraduate programs.
