The trainees of the Technical College for Girls in Makkah completed more than 400 training hours in the framework of developing the outputs of the summer training projects and programs in the second season of training, in conformity with their specializations and scientific fields. The aim of the training is to achieve compatibility between theoretical concepts of computer software and their actual application on the ground, according to specific scientific controls. The training came within a package of technical projects and programs that were developed for the summer training program presented by the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education.
The four-month cooperative program included training students on the basics of designing user interfaces, the color theory, and using computer programs to design interfaces of websites and electronic applications. The program was carried out under the supervision of specialized staff, who monitored the progress of female students and measured their skills in completing the projects assigned to them.
The student Amal Al-Sharif completed the development of the Umm Al-Qura Visitors Program by creating an online portal to obtain temporary permits for university visitors, in order to apply the concepts of digital transformation and e-governance that the university seeks to apply in all its transactions and provided services.
The student Dima Takruni also managed to program a platform that enables specialists to display children's drawings, convert them into digital and tangible products that contribute to the development of children's talents, and enhance their ability to invest and lead, in order to achieve financial returns through these drawings.
The Dean of the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, Dr. Khalid Al-Mutairi, stated that the project outputs reflect the level of professional work provided by the deanship, through its programs and initiatives, to achieve the university’s directives and serve its various sectors. In addition, the deanship contributes technically to the preparation of Saudi citizens for the labor market, equipping them with efficient skills and competencies.
On her part, the Vice Dean of the Deanship, Dr. Hanaa Yamani, stated that the deanship has been keen on training female students according to the basic skills in the fields of the labor market. Through a series of development programs launched by the deanship, it seeks to follow up on female students' projects, programming them in technical ways that meet the needs of the local community while achieving professional standards. She declared that cooperation will continue to exist between government and private bodies in order to serve members of the educational community.
