On Thursday, the Department of Literature at the UQU College of Arabic Language organized a range of community activities under the slogan: "I Am an Arab." The activities associated with the occasion took place in one of the commercial markets in Makkah, and aimed to encourage the love of the language of the Holy Qur’an in the hearts of children by linking the forms of Arabic letters and words to purposeful and technological means of entertainment. This initiative was carried out within the framework of a series of events held by the university during the current week to celebrate World Arabic Language Day.

The Vice Dean of Arabic Language for Educational Affairs, Dr. Saeed Aal Yazid, commended the initiative and the complementary work that contributed to organizing the "I Am an Arab" event, which helped convey a social message of the importance of the language of the ‘Daad’. He pointed out that the college supports all cultural activities and events concerned with teaching and spreading the Arabic language.

Moreover, Assistant Professor of the Department of Literature, Dr. Nada Al-Harthi, stressed the need to take advantage of the activities and events organized for the Arabic language, with the aim of concretizing the Arab identity in society in fulfillment of national and religious obligations. She stressed that the activities of the initiative took into consideration the simplification of the Arabic language through the use of artificial intelligence techniques, in order to easily communicate the information to children.
