The UQU Vice Presidency, in collaboration with the Institute of Public Administration, held an interactive workshop on Sunday, 18 Rabi` Al-Thani, 1441 A.H., corresponding to 15 December, 2019 A.C., at the College of Computer and Information Systems. The workshop was entitled: "The Institutional Transformation of Umm Al-Qura University", and aimed to create financial resources to achieve Umm Al-Qura University’s strategic objectives and implement its projects. It was attended by a number of the affiliates of the vice presidency and the different departments of the university.

The workshop discussed the university’s endeavors to boost its community role by establishing a social responsibility plan, including: activities and tasks related to environmental preservation, awareness, education, and Hajj and Umrah services, with the aim of deepening its community role and enhancing a spirit of cooperation and initiative among its employees. This is in order to create a positive atmosphere with the community members and institutions.

The event also reviewed the role of effective institutional communication between the different parties of the university and the surrounding environment and community, and the role of the available circumstances and capabilities in achieving the sought after success and gains.

Over a period of two weeks, the workshop will tackle several themes, about social responsibility, Hajj and Umrah services, institutional communication, entrepreneurship, innovation, strategic partnerships, the development of self-resources, training, quality assurance, and e-governance, in addition to the activation of the role of scientific research and postgraduate studies.

These activities come to keep pace with the New Universities System launched by the Ministry of Education to achieve the national strategy of the Saudi Kingdom Vision 2030 by giving the universities flexibility in managing their affairs and achieving their goals. The vision also gives the universities the right to build a rational independency, which contributes to boosting their educational and investment economy.
