The Deanship of Information Technology, on Thursday, at the headquarters of the General Administration in Al-Abdiyyah, concluded the first phase of the "Wafy System" workshops. The workshops targeted departments related to financial affairs, contracts, warehouses, and purchases, to achieve integration between the relevant bodies via the electronic network. This took place in the presence of His Excellency the Umm Al-Qura University Vice President, Prof. Farid Al-Ghamdi, the Vice Dean of Information Technology (project supervisor), Dr. Atif Al-Hajaili, and a number of employees of the Deanship of Information Technology and managers of departments at the university.
The University Vice President stated the importance of the project in improving the level of performance and efficiency of internal work cycles, linking the university’s administrations to each other, and reducing the costs of printing paper, in addition to the importance of the system in achieving digital transformation.
His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, gave directives to develop the financial and administrative resources systems via the Wafy application. This is considered an integral step as it will result in the automation of financial and administrative operations, contribute to the speed and ease of access to data, and provide the necessary analytical reports to the decision makers.
The first phase started by providing 4 workshops with the aim of raising awareness of the importance of the system, learning about it by looking at data and reports, collecting and listing notes, and displaying examples of current university information on the new system, in addition to making sure that the requirements are covered.
