Jamoum University College Celebrates the International Volunteers Day in Collaboration with the Civil Defense

Jamoum University College, on Thursday, 8 Rabi` Al-Thani 1441 A.H., hosted the celebration of the International Volunteers Day organized by the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Jamoum. The celebration was held in the presence of the Governor of Jamoum, Mr. Imran Al-Zahrani, the Dean of Jamoum University College, Dr. Suhail bin Salem Al-Harbi, the Manager of the Civil Defense Department in Jamoum, Colonel Sa`d Al-Rabi`i, and managers of different sectors and agencies.

The Governor of Jamoum, Mr. Imran Al-Zahrani, had a tour of the concomitant exhibition in which a number of governmental authorities and voluntary teams participated.

In the celebration's opening speech, the Manager of the Civil Defense Department in Jamoum talked about the efforts and concern of the General Directorate of Civil Defense for highlighting the role of volunteers and the cooperation of voluntary teams. He added that the celebration of the International Volunteers Day stems from the importance of voluntary work and its effective role in building the individual, and aims to achieve comprehensive development of the society.

In his speech, Dr. Suhail Al-Harbi declared the intention of the college to establish a unit for voluntary work, based on the directives of His Excellency the University President, highlighting the efforts of volunteers in collaboration with the Civil Defense. Furthermore, he tackled the university initiatives, referring to the initiative of establishing the Voluntary Safety and Security Club as the first voluntary club to be established in collaboration with the General Directorate of Civil Defense.

Next, the Vice Dean of Jamoum University College talked about the importance of engaging students in voluntary work which represents a provision and reservoir for them and their country in the future, adding that the volunteer is a generous person and a lavish donor who exerts great efforts in the service of society. He then extended his thanks to the Directorate of Civil Defense for organizing this celebration.

After this, the attendants watched a visual presentation about the efforts of voluntary teams. Next, the Governor of Jamoum, Mr. Imran Al-Zahrani, honored the participants, the celebration organizers, and the voluntary teams cooperating with the General Directorate of Civil Defense.
