The College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the General Administration of Services and Utilities, launched the Ghiras initiative on Wednesday, 7 Rabi` Al-Thani 1441 A.H., which was held in front of the entrance of the health colleges. The event was honored by the presence of the Vice Dean of the College, Dr. Alaa' Muhammad bin Zafir Al-Qahtani, and witnessed the participation of the college staff and students.
This initiative aims at planting seedlings and trees in specific places selected through advanced coordination with the relevant authorities. By Allah's grace, 500 seedlings were planted. It was also among the goals of the initiative to encourage female students to participate, ignite the spirit of volunteering in them, eradicate desertification, increase oxygen in the atmosphere, and beautify the entrance of the college.
The Ghiras initiative is part of the university's strategy and vision to achieve environmental leadership for sustainable development. It is an important reinforcing step that encourages the participation of all students and employees, and provides them with all the information they need about these seedlings and how to care for them.
