In the presence of Dr. Ahmad Eshi, Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), as well as a number of UQU officials and concerned attendees, Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim, Head of Physiotherapy Department, gave an awareness lecture titled, "Your Safety in Ergonomics." The vent took place on Monday 4th Rabi'II 1438H at Supporting Hall1, Abediyah Campus.

In the beginning, the lecture was clarified to be based on the science of ergonomics which meant "laws of work."  Such science was based on the study of anatomy, physiology, anthropometry, psychology, and other medical and geometric sciences.   

Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim stressed that ergonomics aimed at the enhancement of the human-machine-environment relationship. He also gave a visual presentation on the healthy basics of right standing positions during work and lecture giving. Besides, he displayed the application of right sitting and pulling positions during work, as well as some exercises that could prevent and treat employment injuries. In addition, he explained in detail the ergonomics -related concepts such as human service and influence on conduct and welfare, as well as dependence on scientific approach while abiding by system adaptation and individual differences identification. Interventions by the attendees started afterwards.

At the end of the lecture, Dr. Ahmad Eshi, Dean of the College, clarified that such awareness lecture stemmed from the role played by the College of Applied Medical Sciences in health awareness spread among UQU affiliates, and was considered an extension of many seminars and events presented by the College for the increase of public awareness among all community categories. Moreover, Dr. Ahmad Eshi extended his deep thanks and gratitude towards the President of Umm Al-Qura University (UQU), Dr. Bakri bin Maatooq Assas, for his continuous support for and encouragement of such events for the benefit of all UQU affiliates and external community.
