Female Students of the Department of Chemistry Paid a Humanitarian Visit to the Social Care Home for the Elders

The Department of Chemistry organized a humanitarian visit on Thursday morning, 24 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1441 A.H., to the social care home for the elders, amidst a family atmosphere charged with love, friendliness, and fondness in order to bring joy and happiness to the residents of the care home. In addition, a number of the department's female students participated in this visit, under the supervision of the Vice Head of the Department of Chemistry, along with Ms. Hawazin Al-Utaibi, Ms. Aziza Fallatah, and Ms. Rajaa Nuqali. They were received by Mr. Majdi Abdullah Al-Thaqafi, the director of the Social Care Home, and Ms. Abeer Bahashwan, supervisor of programs and activities in the women's section of the Social Care Home.

During the visit, a meeting was held with the elderly female and male residents in the home, as a way of involving them in the event and in an attempt to draw a smile on their faces and provide them with hope. Furthermore, the visit mainly aimed to confirm the rights of this group upon us and all members of society to keep visiting and communicating with them, based on the religious principle that promotes compassion.

These visits were derived from the department's interest to build bridges of social cooperation with all social bodies and institutions, in the framework of contributing to various activities as well as raising awareness and enhancing the level of social services.

The members of the Social Care Home appreciated the efforts exerted by the female students, and the role played by Umm Al-Qura University in enhancing the social aspect in the hearts of the elderly. In addition, they expressed their satisfaction and happiness for this visit, considering it a family visit. In fact, the visit's main purpose aimed at raising awareness of the female students, and serving this community group that needs care and attention.
