The Media Club in the Mass Communication Department of Umm Al-Qura University held a course on "Montage Concepts", targeting the students of the Mass Communication Department, in the events hall of the College of Social Sciences, on Tuesday, 15 Rabi` Al-Awwal, 1440 A.H. The course was presented by coach Muhammad Hani, from the Media Center of Umm Al-Qura University.
The course dealt with montage in general, its meaning, and its development over time. It also touched on the types of cut, the difference between technicalities and techniques, and the most important and popular editing programs in various media organizations. It further tackled the sources of learning montage and its techniques, and the keywords for searching for programs and tools used in montage.
In this course, students of the department directed many questions and issues to the trainer, to which he responded. The most prominent questions concerned the all-in-one software program for montage, which is easy-to-use, available, and compatible with most operating systems. As for the discussion issues, they centered on the previous experiences of students with montage, and how to benefit from them when using the different available software programs.
