The two Deans of the UQU Postgraduate Studies and the Technical College at Makkah, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Saeed and Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, discussed, on Tuesday morning, at the office of His Excellency the UQU President, the means of activating the agreement concluded between the two parties for mutual exchange of scientific and training expertise and research results. The meeting took place in the presence of a number of vice deans, deans, and administrators of the technical colleges.
Dr. Sulaiman Al-Saeed explained that the agreement stems from the directions made by the country's wise leadership regarding restructuring educational and training institutions, supporting respective integration policies, providing an opportunity to complete university studies with its two levels, bachelor's degree and postgraduate studies, for students and trainees between the university and technical colleges, providing complementary materials and programs, and determining admission and registration mechanisms for both parties.
The meeting included a discussion on the mechanism to be followed for implementing joint training programs, with the aim of improving the skills of academic and training staff members, developing postgraduate programs, and supplying the university with qualified technicians from among the graduates of the institution, employing them in accordance with the established regulations and laws, in line with the needs of Umm Al-Qura University.
Moreover, according to the Dean of the Technical College, the agreement "creates a balance in academic and technical disciplines to meet the needs of the labor market in the kingdom in general, and the Makkah region in particular." It also supports cooperation in the training and practical application needed for the outputs of both parties, and opens the door to coordination in informational aspects as well as the various occasions and events of common interest.
