Dr. Yasser bin Suleiman Shushu, UQU Vice-President, confirmed that despite the challenges facing the oil markets, the budget of 2017 promises the Saudi citizens prosperous economy for the Kingdom through the promising vision 2030, and the national transformation plan 2020. He explained that the budget has been approved in the extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers.

In addition, he added that approving the Citizen Account Fund confirms the eagerness of the wise government to help the middle-income families to face the current world economic changes and live decently in our beloved country.

Moreover, Dr. Shushu praised the care of King Abdulaziz bin Salman Aal-Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, HRH the Crown Prince, and HRH the Deputy-Crown Prince –Allah protect them- for education which received the highest share of the budget among other governmental sectors. Further, he explained that this proves the commitment of the government to supporting and improving the education with the aim of enhancing our nation’s cognitive, cultural, social and economic status among the developed countries. Dr. Shushu also added that the budget of 2017 will play a positive role in reinforcing scientific research and knowledge economy that would be produced by patents and cognitive consultations.

Besides, Dr. Shushu stated, “The Budget Allocation Committee will allocate the budget to the university’s different colleges, supporting deanships, and departments so as to implement their educational, empirical, research and administrative programs and serve our students in accordance with the guidance of the wise leadership and the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.” And he continued, “The members of this committee are the UQU Vice-Presidents, and its chairperson is Dr. Bakri bin Maatouq Assas, the UQU President.”

Eventually, Dr. Shushu wished the 2017 budget to achieve its targeted objective and upgrade UQU to be one of world’s greatest universities.
