Authority for Health Specialties Renews Accreditation for “Teeth Roots Treatment” Fellowship Program

The Saudi Authority for Health Specialties renewed its accreditation for the “Teeth Roots Treatment” fellowship program at the Dentistry Educational Hospital affiliated to the College of Dentistry at Umm Al-Qura University (UQU). The accreditation was renewed after the visit of the Authority delegation that was paid to the College on Tuesday, Rabi’ al-thani 12, 1437H. The delegation was headed by the Chairperson of the Scientific Council for Dental Medicine at the Saudi Authority for Health Specialties, Dr. Saoud bin Muhammad Ourfuli and Dr. Waleed bin Abdullah Malaat. The delegation checked out the readiness of the College for clinical graduate programs that qualify for minor specialization “equivalent to doctorate”   in dental medicine. The delegation was welcomed by the Dead of the College, Dr. Muhammad bin Mustafa Biyari, the Vice-Dean of Clinical and Hospital Affairs, Dr. Hassan bin Suleiman Hazzazi, and the Teeth Roots Treatment Program Supervisor at the Educational Hospital, Dr. Majed Al-Maliki.

For his part, the Dean of the College, Dr. Muhammad bin Mustafa Biyari, said that the Authority delegation has checked out the research and curative capacity of the college, and the specialized clinics for teeth roots treatment, which are equipped with the newest technologies of developed microscopes, and high level medical equipment. Furthermore, the delegation has listened to the resident doctors at the teeth roots treatment program in the hospital, who praised the high level medical capabilities available, and the great cooperation of the supervising doctors and assisting staff at the hospital. Moreover, the resident doctors also praised the educational and training environment provided at the hospital, which makes it on top of the Dental Training Centers in the Kingdom.

After that, the Authority delegation met the UQU President Dr. Bakri bin Maatooq Assas, who congratulated the renewal of the training fellowship program for the College of Dentistry at the University. He also stated that the graduate studies program at the College of Dentistry is considered the first medical fellowship program for graduate studies at UQU, accredited from the Saudi Authority for Health Specialties. In addition, he added that the renewal of the program for four upcoming years is resulted from the compatibility of the programs of the college, and its academic and training services, with the requirements of the program.

Over and above, Dr. Assas expressed his pride for this renewal which comes within the leading steps of the College of Dentistry at UQU that aims at supporting its academic programs for graduate studies. Last but not least, Dr. Assas praised the distinctive work and clear vision of the College of Dentistry and its Dean, Dr. Muhammad bin Mustafa Biyari, as the College has always been eager to provide all capabilities and equipment required for this renewal, and for ensuring that the Educational Hospital is a trusted accredited training center.
