Dr. Farid Al-Ghamdi emphasized the keenness of the UQU President, Dr. Abdullah Bafail, to serve the community and contribute to charitable work. He pointed out that this agreement falls within the social responsibility and active participation in the promotion of educational awareness as well as the building of the culture of volunteerism and charitable work, in accordance with the objectives of the strategic plan adopted by the university.

He added that the agreement aims at embracing the concept of fostering humanitarian empathy towards the category of people being served by the society, according to the parameters of its development activities. Lastly, he noted that the Deanship of Academic Staff and Employees Affairs facilitates participation for those interested in this initiative.

On his part, the Director of the Society’s branch at Makkah praised the partnership between the two sides for handling the social aspects related to families with orphans, and providing family counseling services to them. He also pointed out that the society seeks to establish a culture of volunteering by providing information, references, books, and research. This is in addition to the creation and operation of electronic databases, and offering studies, recommendations and laws to support and motivate volunteers and philanthropists to engage in social and voluntary work and its special organizations.

He stressed that the society is working diligently to rehabilitate and care for orphaned children as well as widows and their children, and their equivalents, such as people with special needs and conditions. The society also contributes to the implementation of projects of Islamic solidarity and benevolent intercession dedicated to helping individuals and families in financial need by lending them a helping hand, offering them interest-free loans, and implementing investment projects for young people and families, along with several other social services.
