The Initiatives Management and Vision Realization Office at the University participated in the workshop held by the Vice Ministry of Education for Research and Creativity, which was entitled, "Legal Studies Project and Creating Potentials", for the "Research, Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program". This activity was held on Thursday, 3 Safar, 1441 A.H., corresponding to 31 October, 2019 A.C., at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education in Riyadh.

Participants in the workshop tackled the means of supporting the process of research and creativity in Saudi universities by establishing a group of potentials that contribute in pushing forward the wheel of development and innovation in this regard, including its regulations and policies.

His Excellency the Undersecretary for Research and Creativity, Prof. Nasir bin Muhammad Al-Uqaili, pointed out that there are several stages for the project of legal studies and building potentials, such as: the evaluation of the research and innovation system in the kingdom, in the light of changes that occurred during the recent period; the conduction of referential studies on the best international practices and models through which countries were able to achieve leaps in the field of research, innovation, and the knowledge-based economy; and the formation of bylaws and regulations that help universities to achieve their research goals. His Excellency the Undersecretary ended his speech by dealing with the importance of taking the "University New System" into consideration when creating the new potentials and the required regulations.

The significance of the participation of the Initiatives Management and Vision Realization Office in this workshop springs from the significance of the initiatives that fall within the "Research and Development Program" to enable universities to contribute in achieving the Saudi vision 2030.
