The College of Dentistry at Umm Al-Qura University signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kafel Charity for Orphan Care in the university office at Al-Abdiyyah. The College of Dentistry was represented by the Dean of the College, Dr. Abdulaziz Khutani. Dr. Abduaziz bin Dawud Al-Fayez, the Secretary-General of the charity, signed the memorandum on behalf of the charity, in the presence of the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail.
The objective of the agreement, which will last a whole year, is to promote mutual cooperation between the parties in order to benefit the target groups, in addition to the exchange and integration of the health, administrative, marketing and media experiences between the two parties.
Areas of cooperation included scheduled dental visits, the provision of preventive treatment for orphans and widows in mobile clinics, treatment of cases in the teaching hospital, as well as providing courses, awareness and educational programs, and guidance to the beneficiaries and employees of the charity.
Following the signing of the memorandum, His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, applauded the strengthening of cooperation between the two sides for the benefit of this category who are dear to everyone. He added that Umm Al-Qura University, driven by its mission to serve the community, seeks to strengthen, through its educational colleges, institutes and research centers, the bonds of social responsibility, actualizing partnerships with charitable organizations and societies.
On his part, the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Abdulaziz Khutani, praised the agreement and its role in enhancing cooperation and serving orphans. He added that the college, prompted by its mission, always seeks to provide services and assistance to the community. He praised the support and interest of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, in all the activities and programs of the college.
