The Intellectual Awareness Unit held a workshop on Thursday, 25 Safar, at the female section, entitled, "The Role of Educational Philosophy in Protecting the Saudi Citizen’s Intellect". The workshop was held under the supervision of Her Excellency the Deputy of the Intellectual Awareness Unit, Dr. Nouf Al-Jaeid, within the program plan for this semester, and was attended by more than 70 female students.
The workshop, which was presented by the Assistant Professor of the Fundamentals of Islamic Education at the Department of the Fundamentals of Education, Dr. Eman Zaki Asrah, discussed an important intellectual topic in the Saudi social milieu; namely, "The Role of Educational Philosophy in Protecting the Saudi Citizen’s Intellect." It aims at introducing the most prominent intellects in the intellectual philosophies, and their impact on the Islamic intellect of the Saudi citizen.
The workshop addressed the correct approach to process and protect the Saudi citizen’s intellect, which is represented in some dimensions. First, correcting the perception related to the concept of Islamic educational philosophy being an important focus. Second, protecting the Islamic intellect through systematic controls to develop the philosophical mental abilities of mental and moral controls.
A third dimension is based on protecting the human intellect by relying greatly on the activation of the functions of Islamic philosophy in the educational process. A fourth dimension is to protect the human intellect using the methodological foundations of educational philosophy, which guide the intellect of the Saudi citizen and include the ideological, corrective, preventative, domanial and referential foundations.
