The Department of Sports Activities at the Deanship of Student Affairs chose 8 sports activities at the beginning of the competition activities for the female students within the "Free Sports" activities at Umm Al-Qura University headquarters in Al-Abdiyyah.
The following games: football, basketball, bow and arrow shooting, gymnastics, karate, yoga, and aerobics were chosen to start forming the sports teams and make the needed arrangements for organizing the tournament competitions for these games between the colleges of Umm Al-Qura University.
Umm Al-Qura University has arranged appropriate means of transportation for the female students from its headquarters in Al-Zahir to Al-Abdiyyah branch, where the competitions will be held. Moreover, all colleges nominated coordinators to codify the mechanisms of cooperation with the Department of Sports Activities to facilitate the organization of the events. This step came as a preparation for the announcement of the names of the students who wish to partake in these sports, followed by uploading a fitness examination form, after being filled out by the University Medical Center, to form the sports teams for each college in preparation for the launch of the college league.
In relation to such lauded efforts, the Vice Dean for Student Activities and Training, Dr. Nahlaa Hariri, highlighted the synchronized efforts exerted by the deanship, within this framework, in support of the sports activities.
Several private sector entities hastened to sponsor the event with the aim of preparing the students for the next stages.
