The Institute of Consulting Research and Studies, represented by the Centre for Safety, Risk and Crisis Management (SAFE), and the Continuing Medical Education and Training Unit participated in the "International Conference on Disaster Medicine" organized by the Ministry of Health in Riyadh during the period 13 to 14 October 2019. The conference in 2019 carried the slogan, "Towards Achieving Comprehensive Preparedness and Response to Emergencies and Disasters", and was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabi`ah.

The institute's participation in the conference entailed setting up a pavilion that highlights the role of the SAFE Center and the Training and Continuing Health Education Unit with regard to everything related to the management of different crises and disasters.

This participation aims at exchanging knowledge and expertise in all topics related to disasters and crises management, and promoting innovation, creative visions, research and cooperation in this field.

His Excellency the Dean of the Institute of Consulting Research and Studies, Dr. Ali bin Muhammad Al- Sha`iri, clarified that the institute's participation in the conference highlights the effective role of the institute in participating in different events that serve the fields of the institute as well as its units and centers, and provide everything that serves the community, according to the Saudi Kingdom's wise vision.

At the end of his speech, His Excellency the Dean of the Institute thanked the General Director of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, Dr. Jalal Al-Ewis, for the honorable invitation he offered to the institute to participate in this international event. In addition, Dr. Ali Al-Sha`iri lauded the continuous support extended by His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, the UQU President, to the institute and its activities. He also praised the boundless support of the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Othman Ghazi, praying to Allah, the Almighty, to grant everyone more guidance and success.
