Umm Al-Qura University will organize on Monday, 15 Safar 1441 A.H., corresponding to 14 October 2019 A.C., the First Forum of the Coordinating Group for Voluntary Work in Hajj, formed by the Ministerial Order of His Highness the Minister of Interior in 1440 A.H. and entitled "Forum of Volunteer Work to Serve the Guests of Al-Rahman (Ataa)".
The aim of the forum is to clarify the leading and effective role of the group with regard to the voluntary work offered to the guests of Allah's House, and highlight the efforts and the social partnerships that have been formed to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030 in the area of volunteerism.
The Hajj Volunteer Work Coordinating Group consists of: the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, the Ministry of Information, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the Ministry of Education, the General Directorate of Civil Defense, as well as Umm Al-Qura University, represented by the College of Medicine. It also consists of the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth, the Saudi Academy of Health Volunteering (SAHV), and the Saudi Arabian Boy Scouts Association.
The forum, organized by the College of Medicine (Umm Al-Qura University), aims to highlight the leading role of the Saudi Kingdom in the field of volunteer work, and to enhance the complementary relationship between all parties involved in the group coordinating volunteer efforts in the areas of volunteering.
The forum also aims to consolidate intellectual and social security by spreading the culture of volunteerism in society, especially among the youth (males and females). In addition, it aims to enhance the role of Saudi women in volunteering, providing specialized qualitative volunteer work, and to identify the most appropriate methods and means that can be used in raising and increasing volunteerism during the Hajj season.
The sessions of the Forum of the Volunteer Work to Serve the Guests of Al-Rahman will discuss two main themes:
First: The impact of the integration between the volunteering bodies to provide distinctive voluntary services for the pilgrims.
Second: Promoting the culture of volunteerism.
