This evening, His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, received the report issued from the College of Medicine including the details of the college's contributions to the volunteering efforts during the 1440 A.H Hajj season. These contributions were carried out through the methodological and volunteering Hajj program, aiming at spreading the culture of volunteering among the students, preparing them, both practically and on the field, for disaster management, and qualifying the medical cadres of the various health colleges at the university, in order to serve the guests of the Great Mosque of Makkah.

The number of participants from the university's medical and health colleges reached 416 male and female volunteers, who contributed to the activities of the movable medical clinic of the College of Medicine at the holy sites, the emergency ambulance centers, and the hospitals of Makkah and the holy sites. This is in addition to a great percentage of participants who participated in the stream of Health Education and Medical Research, where the number of beneficiaries from the university's volunteer medical services amounted to about 5200 pilgrims.

His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, praised the great positive role exerted by the medical and health colleges of Umm Al-Qura University in the exploitation of all its human and physical potentials for serving the pilgrims. This is besides qualifying young cadres to contribute by participating with the other sectors in serving the guests of Allah (Al-Rahman).

The Dean of the College of Medicine, Dr. Abdul-Salam bin Abdul-Rahman Nour Wali, pointed out that the volunteering Hajj program aims at empowering the students of the colleges of medicine and the other health colleges with the skills of health education and primary medical care. It also aims at qualifying the students, according to the principles of field health work, for serving the guests of Allah (Al-Rahman), and graduating male and female volunteers, every year, who contribute to make the College of Medicine a leading institution in the health volunteering field in Makkah Al-Mukarramah.
