The general secretariat of the International Charitable Work Conference, which is organized by Umm Al-Qura University represented by the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies in partnership with Al-Huda Center for Shari`ah Studies for Charitable Activities, revealed that the e-portal of the conference has received more than 1400 requests to attend the activities and sessions of the conference. The conference will be launched tomorrow, Tuesday, under the patronage of the Advisor of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Prince of Makkah Province, his Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, at King Abdulaziz Historical Hall in Al-Abdiyyah.
During a meeting held today that was headed by his Excellency the Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul-Wahhab Al-Resini, the Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies and the Secretary General of the Conference, Dr. Ra'id Al-Usaimi, displayed organizing committees and the works that were carried out to upgrade the scientific standards of the university.
Dr. Al-Usaimi stated that 650 research papers from 33 countries were submitted to the scientific committee, and 92 of them have been reviewed by the scientific committee and will be printed. He indicated that participants will present their scientific papers that fall within the topics of the charitable work, its role in community reform, the Islamic legal purposes of charitable work, the Islamic fundamental and jurisprudence rules in the organization of charitable work, applications of charitable work in light of its rules and purposes, and the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving charitable work.
The Dean of the College of Shari`ah and Islamic Studies stressed that the conference aims to highlight and clarify the origin of the Islamic legal purposes of charitable work. It also promotes the renovating [Tajdidi] course of the jurisprudence of contemporary charitable work in light of the Islamic legal purposes and rules. In addition, the conference also aims to promote the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to engage in more charitable and humanitarian work.
Dr. Al-Resini indicated that holding this conference falls within the societal mission of Umm Al-Qura University to spread the concepts of work according to its modern changes and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. He added that charitable work institutions were established to serve the community and achieve its developmental objectives in the social, economic, educational, and cultural fields. He added that these noble meanings stand as jurisprudential lighthouses and legal landmarks to achieve the sublime objectives of charitable work. This will also help to put charitable works into practice with high performance to purify them from defects and errors and contribute to developing their financial resources.
He pointed out that the Charitable Work Conference promotes Saudi Vision 2030 with the aim of empowering the charitable sector, promoting its joint cooperation with the public and private sectors, and motivating the charitable sector to apply the standards of the wise government.
