The Biology Department at Jamoum University College held an orientation meeting on Wednesday, 5 Muharram, 1441 A.H., for the new female students of the class 41, under the patronage of the Deputy Head of the Biology Department, Dr. Fatimah bint Muhammad Al-Shahri, in the presence of the members of the academic staff Dr. Duaa Al-Ghareeb and Ms. Ibtihal Al-Ansari.
The meeting included an introduction about the Department of Biology, and its vision, mission and study plan. The meeting also highlighted the department's academic role in serving the community, the job opportunities available for the graduates in the labor market, how to deal with the student page, and how to benefit from the services provided on the page, such as schedule modification. Moreover, it explained how to learn about the study halls and examination dates, and how to follow up on the students’ different academic moves during the study semester, including: withdrawal, postponement, or transfer.
Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the university's rules and regulations, such as attendance, absence, and deprivation. The role of the academic advisor in supporting students was explained, and the importance of benefiting from the e-learning system produced by the university on its website to facilitate all the study matters to students was also addressed besides the easy communication with the lecturer.
