The College of Pharmacy held an introductory meeting for new students on Sunday, 2 Muharram, 1441 A.H. The meeting was attended by His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Faisal bin Ateeq Al-Malki, at the male section, in the presence of the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Adnan bin Saad Al-Harbi, His Excellency the Vice Dean of the College for Hospitals, Dr. Abdullah Al-Haifani, His Excellency the Supervisor of Vice Deanship for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Ziyad Imran, Their Excellencies the heads of the departments, their deputies, the academic staff members, college employees, and members of the student club.
The ceremony started with a recitation of Qur'an by the student Muadh Al-Sufyani. Next, the Dean of the College delivered a speech to his new students, welcoming them and pointing out to them the most prominent goals of the college and its role in forming excellent cadres capable of competing in the labor market. He also explained the students' role in building their country, and their contribution in its progress and welfare. Afterwards, he praised their choice of the pharmacy career.
His Excellency stated that all academic staff members do their best in teaching students and spare no pains in developing their research abilities, and that students should exert as much effort as they can to achieve the desired goal.
His Excellency the Vice Dean of the College for Educational Affairs, Dr. Adnan bin Saad Al-Harbi, offered a detailed explanation about the college, its goals and departments, and the regulations and bylaws governing the educational process. His Excellency also pointed out to the students the importance of following up their e-portal constantly, and he informed them about the activities of the college and the importance of participating in such activities.
The heads of the departments, i.e. their deputies, talked about the courses taught in their departments. The meeting ended with Their Excellencies the Dean of the College and the Vice Dean for Educational Affairs answering students questions, and wishing them progress and success.
Her Excellency the Vice Dean for the female section, Dr. Alaa bint Muhammad Al-Qahtani, received and welcomed the female students at the female section. Her Excellency Dr. Omaima Mahjub, the academic supervisor at the female section, explained the academic-related affairs. The heads of departments, i.e. their deputies, talked about their departments and the courses that are taught in these departments.
The ceremony ended with a tour of the college facilities: the classrooms, laboratories, computer labs, and libraries. Students listened to the activities offered by the pharmacy club associated with the Deanship of Student Affairs, and they learned how to acquire membership of the club and to contribute in the activities it offers.
