50 students from the Institute of Arabic Language for Non-native Speakers at Umm Al-Qura University, representing 25 nationalities, performed Hajj in the 1440 A.H. Hajj season, under the supervision of the Committee for the Development and Improvement of Services Provided to Scholarship Students, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. This was part of the social responsibility efforts exerted by the UQU towards the service of scholarship students.
Prof. Abdul-Wahhab Al-Rasini, the Chairman of the Committee, underlined that the Committee has left no stone unturned to meet the aspirations of the scholarship students, who flock to the UQU from all parts of the Muslim World to seek Islamic knowledge and learn Arabic Language sciences.
He said, “The cooperation between the UQU and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has been orchestrated as part of the UQU's social responsibility efforts. It is one of the initiatives of the Committee, which was recently formed at the direction of His Excellency the UQU President to serve the scholarship students at the university."
Moreover, he stressed that the committee has been formed to serve the scholarship students at the UQU and its initiatives aim to accomplish a number of objectives at the Islamic level, promote a culture of moderation and tolerance, and foster solidarity between the Kingdom and the rest of the Muslim world. He lauded the cooperation of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in this regard.
