17 Projects in Umm Al-Qura University Pivot around Digital Transformation: The Outcome of 150 Training Hours

A total of 25 male and female students in Umm Al-Qura University implemented 17 projects, within 5 different streams varying from digital transformation, voice recording, video shooting, static and motion designs, electronic content development, graphical interface programming and educational design of the electronic curricula.

The students presented their graduation projects during the final ceremony of the summer training of 1440/1441 A.H. that was organized by the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education today, at King Abdulaziz Support Hall in Al-Abdiyyah. The ceremony was held in the presence of UQU's Acting President, Dr. Abdul-Majeed Al-Ghamdi, the University Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Abdulaziz Suruji, and the Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli.

The Dean of the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education, Dr. Khalid Al-Mutairi, pointed out that the deanship has exploited all its human and training resources to achieve the highest levels of professional performance in delivering the programs specialized in a number of the electronic educational sciences. The deanship targets the graduate students in these programs, providing them with more knowledge skills that are compatible with the labor market.

Dr. Khalid Al-Mutairi regarded the training cadres as forming the first step in the transfer of knowledge to students. Consequently, the deanship is keen on providing the best capabilities in all the different training streams to achieve the highest standards of professionalism and productivity in the different scientific fields.

The Vice Dean of the Deanship, Dr. Hanaa Yamani, said that the training streams included many skills required by the labor market. She pointed out that care has been given to lay down specific standards for admission in the summer training program in order to attract highly-qualified cadres, where the outcomes will be outstanding and compatible with the training content which is rich in technological information and electronic modeling. This is in order to achieve the basic goals of the projects, to serve society and develop the spirit of teamwork.

She affirmed that the training program included 150 training hours, through which 46 courses were held in the summer program. As a result, the activities of the program were in a form suitable with the standing of UQU with regard to the qualification of educational cadres in accordance with the state-of-the-art requirements of the era.

At the end of the meeting, UQU's Acting President and the Vice President for Educational affairs honored the participants in the program and the partners of success. At the same time, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli honored the female participants of the female section.
