His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, stressed that the outcomes and results of the three Makkah summits - the Gulf, Arab and Islamic summits - are considered a strategic outcome that confirms the regional and international standing which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has reached and its pivotal role in the international community, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may Allah protect Him - and the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Muhammad bin Salman.
His Excellency pointed out that the Saudi step of holding the three summits in the most pure part of the globe and the place of revelation - Makkah Al-Mukarramah - during the last ten days of the blessed month of Ramadan is proof of the wisdom of our wise leadership, may Allah safeguard them, its deep understanding of the significance of the incidents and crises that cause impasses in the region and the Islamic world, and its understanding of the responsibility and consequences of leading both the Arab and the Islamic worlds.
His Excellency the UQU president said: "The Kingdom succeeded, thanks to Allah, then to its wise leadership, in achieving the results of the three Makkah summits within a framework that unites Muslims all over the globe, especially as the timing of the summits occurred in the shadow of very complicated circumstances and many challenges and risks that threaten the existence and interests of both the Arab and Islamic worlds."
He added that the results of the three Makkah summits included strong warnings against Iran and its aggressive attitude towards the Kingdom and some of the sister countries. He pointed out that the Kingdom could rally strong Islamic, Arab, and Gulf support to deter Tehran and reject its interventions and support of the militias belonging to it in the region and their devastating tools and allies including the Houthi coup militia in Yemen, which caused the three summits to take a strict and deterrent decision against such threats that affect international peace and stability, with regards to both security and the economy.
His Excellency the UQU President congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz (may Allah safeguard them) on the Kingdom’s success in hosting these three historical summits, which were held in the honorable presence of the kings, presidents, and leaders of 56 Arab and Islamic countries. He also congratulated them for reaching the conclusions and results, which identified the problems and challenges facing both the Arab and Islamic nations, and proposing successful solutions to address them.
The UQU president concluded his speech by saying that the Kingdom has impressed the world with the good organization and management of the three summits, and has affirmed to everyone that it is striving to achieve international peace and security not only at the regional level, but throughout the whole world. Prof. Bafail also pointed to the significant event which preceded the three summits and resulted in the issuance of the ‘Charter of Makkah’ by the International Conference on the Values of Mediocrity and Moderation, which was organized by the Muslim World League under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. This is considered to be a completion of the efforts exerted by the Kingdom to achieve peace and served as a global Islamic platform to confront extremist and terrorist ideology.
