His Excellency Prof. Abdullah Bafail, President of Umm Al-Qura University, received the certificate of academic accreditation awarded to the university by the National Center for Academic Evaluation and Accreditation, which was presented to him by the UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Uthman Ghazi, and the Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Muhammad bin Jaafar Thabit, in the presence of the vice deans of the Development Deanship and the Consultative Group.

His Excellency the UQU University President considered this achievement a fulfillment of one of the strategic objectives adopted by the university for the successful realization of Saudi Vision 2030 planned in this regard, through the implementation of various programs at the university. He then thanked all those responsible for the academic accreditation project, along with all the university employees, including the vice deans, general directors, university deans, teaching and administrative staff. He also thanked the students for the efforts they made to make this a success. He congratulated them all on this great achievement.

His Excellency also pointed to the commendations the university received from the international auditors team for this accreditation, noting that this achievement would not have been possible without the support and attention that the university continues to receive from the country's wise leadership (may Allah sustain it), as well as the support provided by His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Hamad bin Muhammad Al-Sheikh. This accreditation puts Umm Al-Qura among the ranks of international universities. Finally, he added that ambition in this aspect has no limits; it is an unending pursuit of excellence in meeting the standards of accreditation and fulfilling the post-accreditation requirements.

The UQU Vice President for Development and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Hani bin Uthman Ghazi, stressed that this national achievement by the university would contribute, with Allah's help and guidance, to raising and developing the efficiency of the administrative and academic performance of the university, while conforming to the best standards and practices of international quality. He said that the university would continue to actively pursue ambitious steps in order to obtain - with Allah's Willing - programmatic accreditation for its academic programs over the coming years in order to get all its academic programs internationally accredited. It is thus contributing to the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030 in the field of higher education, in addition to better alignment of the university's outputs with labor market needs, and the upgrading of its international classification. It would also ensure more optimal knowledge investment through education, scientific research, innovation, and entrepreneurship in this homeland of giving and growth.

The UQU Vice President stated that this positive outcome was not the end of the road; it would be followed with formulating improvement plans and the diligent implementation of provided recommendations. He then emphasized the support and care provided by His Excellency the UQU President, vice deans, staff members, and the Dean of Academic Development and Quality to accomplish this achievement.

Within this same context, the Dean of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Muhammad Thabit, said the institutional accreditation was the result of the collaborative work of the various academic and administrative units of the university, as well as all its employees from all levels, who continue to make great efforts to develop the level of performance and the quality of outputs at the university. He regarded this achievement as an incentive to exert further efforts towards improvement and development, so as to realize other achievements of no less importance than this one. More specifically, through the completion of the process of having all the academic programs offered by the university accredited programmatically, which would contribute to raising the level of the educational and research process and serving the community. This would help move towards the achievement of the university's strategic objectives, which basically stem from the contents and objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
