His Excellency the UQU President, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bahusain Bafail, issued an administrative decision appointing Dr. Ulwi bin Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman Bamahdi as Dean of the College of Engineering in Al-Qunfudhah.

His Excellency the UQU President praised the strenuous efforts exerted by the former Dean of the College of Engineering in Al-Qunfudhah, His Excellency Dr. Jabir bin Sa`id bin Al-Husain Al-Zahrani, during his tenure of office. He gratefully acknowledged the praiseworthy and brilliant services that the former dean rendered to the university, which significantly contributed to its advancement. He added that this advancement was the result of Allah's support, first and foremost, and then the support of the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (may Allah protect him).

His Excellency Prof. Abdullah congratulated His Excellency Dr. Ulwi Bamahdi on his appointment as Dean of the College of Engineering in Al-Qunfudhah. He emphasized the need for diligence and perseverance to develop the work and build upon the efforts of the former dean. Finally, he wished Dr. Ulwi success in his new post.

On his part, His Excellency Dr. Ulwi Bamahdi expressed his thanks for the trust that His Excellency the UQU President put in him by appointing him as Dean of the College of Engineering in Al-Qunfudhah. He asserted that he will – with Allah's help – meet his Excellency's expectations and trust. He then praised the efforts of the former dean, His Excellency Dr. Jabir Al-Zahrani, highlighting that he would work on developing these efforts in a way consistent with the Saudi Vision 2030, in accordance with the National Transformation Plan 2020.
