Umm Al-Qura University and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation signed a mutual agreement on Thursday, 4 Ramadan, 1440 A.H., that will create a balance between academic and technical specializations. This is in order to meet the needs of the labor market in general and Makkah Al-Mukarramah in particular for the coming three years, Allah willing, according to the ambitious Saudi Vision 2030.
The new agreement includes fields of research cooperation, developing courses as well as events and activities of mutual interest between the two sides, making use of the utilities of the two sides, providing cooperative training opportunities at the college and the university, and developing transference programs, complementary programs and postgraduate studies programs in correlated specializations. This includes employment, if need, according to the regulations and laws of the Ministry of Civil Service.
Agreement Goals:
The mutual agreement aims at restructuring the educational and training institutions in the Saudi Kingdom, and promoting their integration by developing the transference mechanism, complementary programs, and postgraduate studies for students and trainees in the university colleges and technical colleges, in correlated specializations.
The agreement was concluded at the headquarters of the Technical College in Makkah Al-Mukarramah (Jamoum Branch) in the presence of Their Excellencies the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah Bafail, the Director of the Corporation, Dr. Ahmad Al-Fuhaid, and the Dean of the Technical College at Makkah, Dr. Abdullah Al-A`raj.
Dr. Abdullah Al-A`raj indicated that the agreement will create mutual cooperation and an exchange of experience among the human factors on the two sides, in the scientific and practical fields, that serve both sides in the educational and training streams at Umm Al-Qura University and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation. In this way, a balance is maintained in academic and technical specializations that meet the needs of the labor market in the Saudi Kingdom in general and in Makkah Al-Mukarramah Province in particular, according to the vision 2030.
On his part, His Excellency Prof. Abdullah Bafail asserted that the agreement carries with it several developmental visions to promote the abilities of the Saudi youth. This is especially since Umm Al-Qura University possesses advanced educational and scientific experience that will be dedicated to render successful such qualitative projects that serve the future vision of the country.
Dr. Al-A`raj extended his thanks to Their Excellencies who attended the signing of this agreement for their constant and permanent support. He also asserted that all the staff are keen to dedicate their potentials to serve the nation's youth.
