At the direction and with the support of His Excellency the President of Umm Al-Qura University, Prof. Abdullah bin Omar Bafail, and as part of the lauded development efforts extended by the UQU President's Office, the office's officials sought to establish and activate a Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with the ISO 90012015 standards. The work has been underway for nearly three months, setting out the following: Quality Policy - Organizational Structure - Quality Manual - General Procedures of the QMS - Work Procedures Illustrations - Work Forms - Job Description - Quality Objectives, in addition to gathering the documented information required for the ISO 90012015 standards and those deemed necessary by the office to ensure the quality of the administrative work.
The aim of the QMS is to familiarize the office's staff with their different and varied roles, equip them with the needed knowledge to perform these roles efficiently and effectively, provide more opportunities to manage the close and strong relationship between theory and practice in their field, raise the level of awareness of the staff to accept the process of positive change and enhance their readiness for change, and extend extra efforts in contribution to the development of the UQU.
Moreover, the system aims to provide services to the office's auditors, visitors, and guests and facilitate their tasks, increase the satisfaction of the beneficiaries, improve the performance and motivation of the employees, and raise their awareness and morale.
In light of this, several workshops have been conducted in this regard, delineated below:
