Umm Al-Qura University discussed the knowledge aspects of the role of Saudi Women in the development of the academic, research and economic fields, in a manner that ensures achieving a balance community in accordance with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030. This was during the sessions of the forum, "The Optimal Balance for a Better Community", which was organized by the Vice Presidency For Female Student Affairs last Thursday, in cooperation with the Committee of Family Affairs.
The female speakers discussed, within their work papers, the balanced role of woman in supporting entrepreneurship, enabling creative and pioneer services that ensure the sustainability of the knowledge economy, as being an essential element in the community, and making effective contributions to achieve the national vision.
The female participants emphasized the importance of planning, with regard to the woman identifying her objectives and aspirations, provided that she has the ability to hold the responsibility to implement them, the intellectual security to achieve the objectives of the kingdom, represented in transferring an honorable image of the Saudi woman globally through her interaction with different cultures, and the ability to benefit from the sciences and knowledge that support development in different fields.
The female researchers found that motherhood does not decrease the professional level of the working woman; in fact, it makes her appreciate her standing and the significance of her leading role in the community, managing the use of her leisure time to raise the wheel of development and depending on herself in taking decisions, in addition to proceeding in the tasks assigned to her. They pointed out that the trigger of a balanced life is to seize opportunities of self-development, taking into consideration the basic requirements of each age stage the woman reaches.
As for building a generation that has advanced scientific standards, the female researchers recommended the necessity to take into consideration the time sequencing in caring for those who have educational talent, as well as supporting them to build a balanced character and balanced productivity, and the keenness on teaching them the methods of leadership, through the development of the cognitive motives and knowledge interests, to be able to orient their various talents towards the service of the society in different fields. This is in addition to supporting the community partnerships with universities and research centers to enable them to obtain the local and international awards to support their creativity and innovation.
They remarked on the significance of giving external support to the Saudi woman for her to serve the national issues, in order to leave a unique imprint in the field of scientific research, particularly for Umm Al-Qura University, which is known for its publications of scientific research by female researchers.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Vice President of Umm Al-Qura University for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli, inaugurated the associated exhibition, which was implemented by the female students of the College of Design. In the exhibition, they presented models and drawings of women's clothing, throughout the ages, in addition to crafts that manifest women's various interests.
Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli, in her speech, added that the woman has made effective contributions in all the social activities as well as the developmental and economic fields, reflected in the prosperity and progress of the homeland. She also indicated the necessity for the woman to manage her occupational roles and coordinate between them and her family duties, through her contribution in building a generation that will lead the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the highest levels of advancement.
The Advisor to the UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, Dr. Haifa' Fida, emphasized the correlation between a balance in the society and the woman's confidence and belief in her work, according to her compliance with the legislative laws and monitoring herself with regard to the application of the norms and the accepted ideas of the community. This is in addition to the awareness of her standing by being guided by the role models. Thus, women's roles are reflected in the promotion of the society and the balance of its individuals.
