Her Excellency the Vice President for Female Students Affairs, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli, honored the winners of the UQU Role Model Contest (Season 3) which was held last Sunday at the Al-Jawhara Hall. The Deanship of Student Affairs awarded the winners of the first three places with cash prizes, totaling approximately 55 thousand riyals.
The theme of the contest stems from the comprehensive vision that has been formed for the Makkah Region and adopted by His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region. This vision focuses on the strategy of "building humanity and developing the society", and takes as its empowering slogan,) "How to be a role model?". Towards this objective, it selects the students who attained certain accomplishments and have demonstrated exemplary performance that quality them to be set as good examples at the level of the university.
The contest results were as follows: The student Ehdaa Turkistani (College of Medicine) won first place, a cash prize of 20 thousand riyals, and a gold shield; the student Manar Mushat (College of Medicine) won second place, a cash prize of 15 thousand riyals, and a silver shield; and the student Mawaddah Al-Nassiri (College of Social Sciences) won third place, a cash prize of 10 thousand riyals, and a bronze shield. The university also presented an award of 1000 riyals for each student who won the role model title at the level of her college.
The ceremony was held in honor of UQU Vice President for Female Student Affairs, and featured a number of events, including an operetta, a comedy play, and a visual presentation on the achievements of the Deanship of Student Affairs. The ceremony witnessed the university clubs walk the stage. On her part, Dr. Sarah Al-Khuli expressed her keenness to attend the event in order to share the celebration with the winners of the honorary title. She also offered her thanks to the Deanship of Student Affairs for the outstanding activities they have been offering, and to the students and the clubs at the university for the efforts they have made throughout the year.
The Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs, Dr. Amr Al-Saqqaf, said that the most beautiful moments are those of realizing a goal after planning, working, exerting effort, and becoming exhausted for it. He added that the day's celebration was the result of the great efforts exerted by the teamwork of the deanship. He also referred to the significant roles played by the vice deans of the Deanship of Student Affairs, namely the Vice Dean of the Deanship for Student Services, Dr. Luluah Al-Harthi, the Vice Dean of the Deanship for Activities and Student Training, Dr. Khuloud Abul-Naja, the Vice Dean of the Deanship of Student Affairs for Student Support, Dr. Mona Hajji, and the Vice Dean of the Deanship for Direction, Guidance and Community Partnership, Dr. Amal Sindi.
