College of Nursing Students Visit Secondary School (46) for Health Education

Proceeding from the eagerness of the College of Nursing at UQU to offer distinct health and awareness services, and actively participate in serving the society through raising the health awareness of the people; especially schools female students whom will be the mothers of the future, some of the college’s top students paid a visit to “Secondary School 46 for Girls” to raise the health awareness and education of the students. The visit was paid under the supervision of the faculty members of the Department of Community Health Nursing and Mass Healthcare.

During the visit, the college students, faculty members and administrators made a number of presentation for the school students on the school environmental health and how to maintain it, Zika virus, Dengue fever and how to prevent it, asthma disease, food safety, as well as disease prevention.

In addition, the college students raised the school students’ awareness on breast cancer through introducing the disease, discussing how to diagnose and detect it, and training the students on how to conduct self-examination using innovative means such as balloons, display screens and videos to ensure the clarification of the information.
